These photos showcase the dance’s stylistic form and convey the impression that the dancers are genuine couples. In Bachata, it is customary to switch partners after each song ends. This opportunity for different couple pairings allowed me to document the high energy and passion for bachata at this popular Westwood studio. As dancers paired up to express their choreography, the bachata songs dropped their bass, filling the dance floor with a euphoric atmosphere as I happily moved around and enjoyed the scene.
Dancer University, owned by dance instructor Nicole Gil and her fiancé Alayn Govea (DJ A-Line), fosters a vibrant dance community.
